Edible Food Art for Kids
A redesign that turned a portfolio style site into a shop, so fans of Sarah's fruit art can browse e-books, mugs and gifts and buy in a few clicks.

A beautiful portfolio that was not built to sell.
Edible Food Art for Kids shares Sarah’s fruit and vegetable art, step by step e-books and food art gifts. We built the original site in 2023 around the gallery, press coverage and a newsletter. Since then the shop had grown, with e-books and print on demand products through Gelato, but the site still read like a portfolio, so the products sat a few steps away from the people who wanted them.
- Products were behind an information first layout
- No easy route between e-books, mugs, T-shirts and other gifts
- The WooCommerce back office, Gelato products and shipping had to keep working exactly as before
A shop first, with the art still front and centre.
We redesigned the site around the products while keeping the brand Sarah and Brett had built. They reviewed everything on a staging copy, sent one round of notes, and we launched on the live site with the existing products, Gelato connection and back office left in place.
- Shop buttons for every product category in the main store
- Cross sell prompts between categories, such as mugs at the end of the e-books
- You might also like suggestions on every product
- Feature highlights on each e-book and second images on mugs
- Product sorting in the store
- A commissions callout inviting custom food art requests
- A full checkout test before launch, so shipping on physical products charged correctly
Sitelab built two websites for us, both completed quickly and to a high standard. The team consistently goes above and beyond to accommodate edits. Thoroughly satisfied on both projects.
